At Centre for Inclusive Living Perth and Kinross, we provide disability awareness training to individuals and local organisations. Each training is customized for our trainees needs.
IT Staff
In June of 2023, We were given the opportunity to talk to Perth & Kinross Council IT staff.
This was to ensure their communications and digital services were accessible and inclusive.
Two of our Disability champions were involved in the session providing the staff with experience, examples and telling it as it is from their life experience.
Taxi Drivers
In August of 2023, we held two taxi training sessions.
We covered safety around and in the vehicle, good customer service and the importance of disability awareness.
Our members were able to share their experiences of using taxis in the Perth and Kinross area with our local taxi drivers.
The aim of our training sessions is to help taxi drivers gain more confidence working with manual and powered wheelchairs when using the equipment in their vehicle: the hooks, the clamps, and the seatbelts.
We also hope that they will gain more confidence when working with different customers and different disabilities.
